Dan Knox

Managing Director/Board Member

Mr. Knox brings more than 12 years of experience in telecom network hardware & services. Mr. Knox has led successful execution of contracts for maintenance, support and expansion of telecom networks in some of the world’s most challenging emerging markets. He currently leads GSM Systems’ ongoing expansion across 3 continents, with a focus on operational execution and building unique value through partnerships with leading operators and OEM vendors. As a leader, he holds a uncompromising belief in the company’s core values of integrity, transparency, teamwork, courage, creativity and abundance as the foundation of the company’s future. Mr. Knox a graduate of the University of Leeds, having lived in Europe, UK, Latin America, and US. He speaks fluent French and Spanish and is a member of Vistage and Young President’s Organization.


Olivier Thiery

Regional Director, Finance

Mr. Thiery brings over 20 years of proven multi-industry experience ranging from Hospitality, Oil and Gas to Telecom Finance and Operations Management. Mr. Thiery provides financial insights on global projects and participates in project roll-outs for all strategic clients. Mr. Thiery’s main focus is assuming the application and enforcement of Accounting and Finance compliance and controls throughout the organization. Mr. Thiery has a BS in Finance & Managerial Accounting with a minor in IT Systems from ADVANCIA, Paris, France.


Malcolm Colman

Director, Global Operations

Mr. Colman has over 27 years of operations management experience in Africa with a specialization in multi-vendor spare parts management. Prior to GSM Systems, Mr. Colman held a senior leadership position in the South African Defense Force for 12 years. Current responsibilities include overseeing services and trading operations from implementation, training to ongoing service and delivery improvements. Coming from an Industrial Engineering background, ensures adherence to GSMS best practices through process mapping and workflow design with structured metrics that focuses on the continual improvement cycle.


Dave Sacks

Director, Global IT

With over 20 years of experience in both IT and Telecom Industries, Mr. Sacks brings to GSM Systems operational excellence and experience in developing corporate quality assurance mechanisms that continually drive the company to implementation of best practices ensuring the scalability of our services across markets and regions. As a South African, Mr. Sack has a deep understanding of doing business in Africa and provides the region’s operations with the required leadership and management to continually reach and exceed corporate goals. Mr. Sacks holds a CIS from University of Witwatersrand and is an awarded officer of Toastmaster International.


Golan Lewkowicz

Director, Global Account Management Group

Mr. Lewkowicz brings over 14 years of account development and relationship management experience to GSM Systems. Prior to joining GSM Systems, Mr. Lewkowicz served as Managing Partner of a boutique Investment Advisory Firm on Wall Street as well as Sr. VP of private client services for Ladenburg Thalmann & Company in London and New York. Mr. Lewkowicz holds a BSBA in finance and business administration from West Virginia University and is a licensed Series 7, 63, 24 and 65 Registered Investment Advisor.


Christian Crews

Head of Business Development

Mr. Crews brings over 14 years of business development and operations experience to GSM Systems with cross industry international experience. Previous to joining GSM Systems, Mr. Crews founded a boutique consultancy focused on entrepreneurial consumer products companies leveraging his consumer products experience gained while at Givaudan Fragrances, the global leader in flavors and fragrance worldwide. Prior to that, he was Senior Trader and Regional Manager for ED&F Man Group, focused on sugar, molasses and alcohol trading operations in Mexico and Central America where he launched numerous initiatives for new products and services in the region. Christian has an MBA from Babson College and holds a BSBA in international management from Boston University.


Joseph Schroeder

Head of Global Sales Operations

With over 30 years of experience in both the telecommunications and computer industries Mr. Schroeder brings extensive Sales, Marketing and Operations knowledge to the GSM Systems Team. Mr. Schroeder will be leading a growing sales and sales operations team as GSM System expands around the world. Prior to joining GSM Systems Mr. Schroeder was Director of Global Sales Operations at RadiSys Corporation and prior to that he held various Sales, Marketing and Technical positions at IBM Corporation. Mr. Schroeder has a BA in Government from Franklin and Marshall College and executive training from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.  


Garrett Smith

Director, Repair Business Unit

Mr. Smith has been heavily involved since 2006 in the growth and development of GSM Systems as a market leader in reuse, repair, and asset optimization. During his time at GSMS, he has managed Asset Optimization projects throughout the EMEA & APAC regions as well as overseeing projects such as BSC Expansion and in-country repair rollout. Under Mr. Smith’s guidance, GSM Systems has developed multi vendor repair capabilities both locally and at the flag ship facility in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Garrett has a BSBA in International Business and Politics from Miami University.


John Dodge

Head of West Africa Services

Mr Dodge has over 20 years Telecommunications experience with a wide range of skills starting from On-site Technical knowledge through to Processes and Skills required to become Head of Deployment for Core and IN Networks. Mr Dodge worked in 4 continents during that time so he brings extensive technical and cultural knowledge to the company. For the last 11 years, Mr Dodge was based in Nigeria since the start of GSM networks evolution and was part of the launch of GSM for Econet Wireless International in 2001. Mr Dodge current responsibilities include reviewing all Test and Repair Centers to improve processes, ways of working and conduct a Gap Analysis with the end goal being to have World Class Repair Facilities for World Wide servicing.
